Pike County fights fentanyl poisoning

MILFORD, PA—Pike County is raising awareness of fentanyl’s deadly deceptions.

“Pike County is not going to take it!” says the invitation to a meeting scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, in the commissioners meeting room, 506 Broad Street, Milford, PA.

“Illegal drug profiteers are using fentanyl to add potency and profitability to their drug supply,” says the statement from Shannon DeVuyst, the county commissioners’ communications director. “Seven out of 10 pills—including counterfeit prescription opiates—have been shown to contain lethal doses of fentanyl.

“In Carbon, Monroe and Pike County, we seek the truth. We band together. We win when we all work together to stop the fentanyl crisis. That means teens, teachers, parents, coaches and other community members all have a role to play.”
