Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Gregory Chelak:

Lonny R. Frederick, age 35, of Greentown, PA, was sentenced to 44 months to 10 years in a state correctional facility and fined $6,800 for one count of Strangulation, six counts of Simple Assault, three counts of Intimidation, Retaliation or Obstruction in Child Abuse Cases, five counts of Criminal Solicitation to Commit Intimidation, Retaliation or Obstruction in Child Abuse Cases and three counts of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Intimidation, Retaliation or Obstruction in Child Abuse Cases. Frederick applied pressure to the throat of a 10-year-old which prevented the child from breathing, struck the child with a belt causing injury and also struck the child with a closed fist at a residence in Greene Township on December 5, 2019.  From November 2019, through December of 2019, while the investigation of the child abuse was taking place, Frederick encouraged the child to provide false or misleading information to law enforcement and conspired with another individual to intimidate, retaliate or obstruct the child abuse investigation in which Frederick struck and kicked the child.

Linda Murphy, age 61, of Sparrowbush, NY, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $300 for the crime of Retail Theft.  Murphy took items with a total retail value of $72.84 from a retail store in Westfall Township on October 16, 2021, without paying for them. 

Christopher William Houman, age 36, of Waymart, PA, was sentenced to three years to six years in a state correctional facility and fined $500 for the crime of Firearms Not to be Carried without a License, which is to run consecutive with prior sentencings for a total confinement of four years to 12 years.  The state police encountered Houman at a business in Westfall Township on Jan. 22.  An outstanding warrant existed for Houman.  Houman was found in possession of a loaded firearm for which he did not have a valid license. 

Nicholas Theodore Demchuk, age 27, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to six months of the Pike County Restrictive Condition Program, which will include 30 days of house arrest, a fine of $1,300 and driver’s license suspension of 12 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Small Amount of Marihuana.  The state police stopped Demchuk who was observed driving along SR 402 in Blooming Grove Township with dark tint windows on May 17, 2021.  Demchuk exhibited dazed, nervous, and unusual behavior, shaking and with bloodshot eyes and smelling of Marihuana.  Demchuk handed over Marihuana and admitted to smoking prior to the stop.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment and a blood test confirmed the presence of THC in his blood. 

Stephen W McKean, age 65, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to five days to six months in the Pike County Jail, fined $300 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police made a safety check on McKean who was asleep in his running vehicle stopped along 1-84 in Westfall Township on December 5, 2020.  McKean was roused and told he was illegally parked.  When McKean pulled away, he was observed swerving his vehicle back and forth along his lane of travel.  The state police effected a traffic stop where McKean was observed to have difficulty with balance, had bloodshot, glossy eyes and emanating the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .095%.

Heather Cassandra Fitzpatrick, age 37, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to one month and 72 hours to 24 months less one day in the Pike County Jail, followed by 12 months of probation, a fine of $1,800 and driver’s license suspension of 12 months for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence, Simple Assault and Terroristic Threats.  The state police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Lehman Township on August 5, 2019, where Fitzpatrick used a knife to stab an individual in the shoulder, hand and forearm and threatened to kill the individual.  The state police were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on January 10, 2021, along SR 739 in Dingman Township where Fitzpatrick crashed into a tree.  The trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Fitzpatrick admitted to drinking prior to driving.  A blood test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .167%.

Kai Lee Wicksnes, age 45, of Greeley, PA, was sentenced to a fine of $800 for the crime of Disorderly Conduct.  Wicksnes exposed his genitals while in line at a business in Blooming Grove Township on February 21, 2020.

Oleg V. Smyrnov, age 57, of Rockaway Beach, NY, was sentenced to 48 hours to six months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance.  The state police responded to Black Birch Lane in Blooming Grove Township where Smyrnov crossed a divided highway and struck another vehicle on June 18, 2021.  An open container of an alcoholic beverage was found in the vehicle.  When speaking with Smyrnov, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed him to have slurred speech, red, bloodshot eyes.  A blood test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .143%.

Brianna Nicole Worden, age 25, of Port Jervis, NY, was sentenced to seven days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail, followed by six months of probation, fined $1,100 and a driver’s license suspension of 24 months for two counts of the crime of Driving Under the Influence and Disorderly Conduct.  Milford Police were dispatched to East Harford Street where Worden was trespassing.  When Worden was confronted by the officer, she was observed to have bloodshot, glossy eyes and emanating the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Worden admitted to drinking before driving to the location.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .126%. Worden was observed by Eastern Pike Regional Police driving into a business parking lot in Matamoras where a domestic dispute ensued on October 30, 2021.  When contact was made with Worden, she was observed to be staggering with an unsteady gait, blood shot eyes and smelling of an alcoholic beverage.  Worden refused a blood test.

James Douglas Thompson, age 47, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 26 days to 23 ½ months in the Pike County Jail, followed by 12 months of probation and fined $600.00 for the crimes of Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.  The state police responded to Milford Road in Lehman Township on December 20, 2019, where Thompson head butted an individual during a domestic dispute which escalated from a tail gaiting incident. 

Robert R. Reilly, age 49, of Port Jervis, NY, was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  Eastern Pike Regional Police were dispatched to Pennsylvania Avenue in Matamoras where Reilly drove into a parked car on October 5, 2021.  Reilly admitted to drinking prior to driving and exhibited bloodshot eyes, unsteady gait, confusion and emanating the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Reilly refused to submit to Field Sobriety Tests or a chemical test.

Kirk Hammerstone, age 47, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to72 hours to six months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  Pike County Sheriff’s Deputies observed Hammerstone driving erratically along SR 739 and Log Tavern Road in Dingman Township on November 20, 2021.  Upon speaking with Hammerstone, the deputies detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed him to be disoriented with bloodshot, glassy eyes.  Hammerstone admitted to drinking prior to driving.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .243%.

James Quiles, age 52, of Rowlands, PA, was sentenced to 48 hours to six months in the Pike County Jail, fined $500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police responded to I-84 in Blooming Grove Township where Quiles was involved in a one-vehicle accident on July 19, 2019.  When contact was made with Quiles, he was observed to have bloodshot, glossy eyes, and sluggish, slurred speech and emanating the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Field Sobriety Tests were administered, and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .157%.

Krystle Ann McNamara, age 30, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to six months of probation and a fine of $300 for the crime of Disorderly Conduct.  The state police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Dingman Township where McNamara was engaged in a violent altercation with an individual and resisted being put under arrest.

Clarisa Otway, age 41, of Greentown, PA, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $300 for the crime of Access Device Fraud.  Between August 20, 2019, and September 20, 2019, Otway used a credit card without the owner’s permission to do on-line gambling in the amount of $1,250.

Vanessa Naturale, age 44, of Greentown, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 and had her driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police were dispatched to Route 507 in Greene Township where Naturale had rolled over her vehicle on December 25, 2020.  In speaking with Naturale, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed her to have bloodshot eyes and poor coordination.  Naturale admitted to drinking prior to driving.  Signs of impairment were detected during Field Sobriety Tests and a blood test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .232%.

Gene Barry Draughon, age 50, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to six  months of the Pike Care Program which will include 30 days of house arrest, a fine of $1,000 and driver’s license suspension of 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police were dispatched to Roan Drive and Maple Ridge Drive in Blooming Grove Township to assist public safety with Draughon who had driven off the road and was intoxicated on September 24, 2021.  While speaking with Draughon, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed him to be disheveled and unsteady on his feet and having bloodshot eyes.  Draughon admitted to drinking prior to driving.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment and a breath test confirmed a .212% blood alcohol content.  

Sherry Ellis, age 47, of Greentown, PA, was sentenced to six months of the Pike Care Program which will include 30 days of house arrest, a fine of $1,000 and driver’s license suspension of 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police were dispatched to SR 507 in Palmyra Township where Ellis had rolled over her vehicle on October 29, 2021.  When speaking with Ellis, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Ellis admitted to drinking prior to driving.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .216%.

Charles Edward Kreutle, age 57, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to six months in the Pike County Jail, a fine of $1,000 and driver’s license suspension of 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  Milford Police responded to a business parking lot in Milford to conduct a welfare check on Kreutle who was passed out in the driver’s seat of his vehicle.  When Kreutle was awoken, he admitted to drinking prior to driving.  Field Sobriety tests indicted impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .185%.

Logan Myles Mottarosario, age 27, of Sandyston, NJ, was sentenced to 18 months of probation and a fine of $800 for the crimes of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  The state police stopped Mottarosario on November 23, 2021, for traveling too closely along I-84 in Blooming Grove Township.  When speaking with Mottarosario, numerous indicators of criminal activity were observed.  A consent to search his vehicle was denied.  A K-9 alerted the troopers to the presence of drugs in his vehicle and a search warrant was secured.  Mottarosario was found in possession of two vacuum sealed bags of Marihuana.

Paul Michael Dzyak, age 40, of Newfoundland, PA, was sentenced to 30 days in the Pike County Jail, five years of Probation with Restrictive Conditions which will include 90 days of house arrest, a fine of $1,500.00 and driver’s license suspension of 18 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  Dzyak was stopped by Eastern Pike Regional Police on May 22, 2021, after being observed driving erratically along Route 6 & 209 in Westfall Township.  When contact was made with Dzyak, an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected.  Dzyak admitted to drinking prior to driving.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment and a blood test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .30%.

Barton J. Weidlich, age 53, of Pittston, PA, was sentenced to 48 hours to six months in the Pike County Jail, fined $500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police pulled over Weidlich on August 28, 2021, for driving erratically along SR 6 in Palmyra Township.  When contact was made with Weidlich, he was observed to be dazed and sluggish with glossy, bloodshot eyes and emanating the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .111%.

Joseph Henry Cornellier, age 52, of Somerville, NJ, was sentenced to 90 days in the Pike County Jail and a fine of $300 for the crime of Disorder Conduct. The state police were dispatched to a domestic dispute on January 28, 2019, at a residence in Lehman Township where Cornellier attempted or threatened injury of an individual in order to cause alarm.
