JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — The Western Sullivan Public Library presents Thurman Barker in a discussion of jazz on Thursday, August 31 at 5 p.m. at the Jeffersonville branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library, 19 Center St.
Barker will explain the four elements of music and what they mean, and what distinguishes jazz from other types of music. He will also introduce some listening techniques.
Demonstrations will be performed throughout the lecture, and a Q&A will be present at the end.
The audience is encouraged to attend a follow-up program on Saturday, September 9 upstairs at the Jeffersonville Bake Shop at 2 p.m. This will be a live concert demonstration.
