Thomas C. Jay of Cochecton, NY, a long-time area resident, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 with his family by his side. The son of the late Clarence and Madeleine (Heinle) Jay, he was born March 21, 1948 in Weehawken, NJ. He was 74 years old.  

Tom was a retired heavy equipment operator. Tom was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Elks. He was an avid softball player and bowler. He enjoyed hunting and fishing out west.

Most important to him was his family and he really enjoyed playing with his grandsons.

Survivors include: his wife of 46 years Karen (Krantz) Jay; three children: Todd Jay of Narrowsburg, NY; Roy Jay and his companion Cassie of Lake Huntington, NY; Kimberly Luning and her husband Jonathan of Cochecton; grandsons Nicholas and Dawson Luning; brother Richard Jay and his wife Sandi of Cochecton; sister Linda Pomes and her husband Richard of Cochecton Center, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside service was private at the Laurel Cemetery in Cochecton Center.
