Newest leaf on the Giving Tree honors parents

HONESDALE, PA — David Hoff, former Wayne Memorial chief executive officer, and his wife Jennifer donated to the Giving Tree at Wayne Memorial Hospital this spring for the third time.

This latest donation was in memory of Jennifer’s parents.

The Wayne Memorial Health Foundation’s Giving Tree offers families, groups and individuals the opportunity to honor or remember loved ones while benefiting the foundation.

The Hoff leaf reads “Always in our hearts, Annabelle M. Ungar and Frank S. Ungar/with love from David & Jennifer Hoff.”

The Hoffs had previously sponsored leaves for David Hoff’s late mother, Kathleen, and another for the entire Wayne Memorial Hospital family.

“We think the Giving Tree is a wonderful way to show our love or appreciation for others,” said David Hoff, “and it helps the hospital through the foundation.”

“It’s very visible to anyone who wants to stop and look,” added Jennifer Hoff, “and it just warms my heart to know that my parents, while no longer with us, are still being remembered.”

The Giving Tree is in the main hallway of Wayne Memorial Hospital, between the main lobby, the Radiology Department and the cafeteria. Interested donors can purchase a bronze leaf, a wooden bronze “cloud” or an engraved stone.

For more information, email the foundation director, Lisa Champeau, at wmhf@wmh.org or call 570/253-8631.

“We are grateful to the Hoffs and the many others who have participated in our Giving Tree program,” said Champeau. “the tree continues to grow.”
