CALLICOON, NY — America’s only national Italian-American college fraternity will host its annual summer convention at the Villa Roma Resort and Conference Center from August 2-6.

Approximately 200 brothers of Alpha Phi Delta, along with many family members, will take part in this annual gathering, which is a mixture of both social and business activities.

The convention will include business meetings about the state of the fraternity and its business and philanthropic activities. There will also be discussions about the challenges facing traditional Greek-letter entities.

This year’s gathering will be the 100th year that the fraternity has held a summer convention.

This year, the brothers will start arriving on August 2 for golf, sporting events, evening activities and casual socializing.

Friday, August 4, will include an Alumni Emeritus Luncheon honoring those men who have been a part of Alpha Phi Delta for at least 50 years. Later that day, a military brothers reception will honor those who have served our nation in uniform. Brother Ray Diaz will speak about his military career, which included duty as a sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

On Saturday, August 5 at 2 p.m., undergraduate brothers will participate in a leadership conference, featuring educational presentations dealing with chapter management.

At 5 p.m., there will be a Catholic memorial Mass for those brothers who have died, followed by an evening awards dinner at the resort’s golf clubhouse.

Awards will be presented to outstanding brothers, chapters and alumni entities. Additionally, the Alpha Phi Delta Foundation will award scholarships to deserving undergraduate brothers and students who are the relatives of brothers.
