NEW YORK STATE — Nancy McGraw, community health planner and consultant, has been elected treasurer of the New York State Association for Rural Health (NYSARH).

McGraw brings a wealth of experience and expertise in public health, strategic planning, grant writing and coalition building to her new role within the organization, a NYSARH press release stated.

McGraw is the president and owner of McGraw Professional Consulting, LLC, which specializes in health care and community health planning. With over 25 years of experience, McGraw has dedicated her career to improving public health outcomes and addressing the unique challenges faced by rural communities, the press release noted.

Prior to launching her consulting business, Nancy McGraw served as the director of public health for a decade in Sullivan County, where she also led the Sullivan County Rural Health Network.

McGraw’s extensive background in health care administration includes an MBA in health care administration from Binghamton University and a master’s degree in public health from the University at Albany School of Public Health.

Her commitment to advancing health care accessibility for vulnerable populations and her contributions to policy development on critical issues, such as the opioid epidemic and mental health parity, make her a valuable asset to the NYSARH leadership team, the association said.

As the newly elected treasurer, she can continue her dedication to improving rural health outcomes in New York State. “Her strategic acumen and passion for public health will undoubtedly contribute to the organization’s mission of enhancing health care access, reducing health disparities and advocating for rural communities,” a NYSARH spokesperson said.
