MONICELLO, NY -- Monticello Police Department called sheriff's deputies on December 2 to interview a victim of a violent domestic incident in the Town of Thompson.
The investigation revealed that the victim was robbed of cash and a cellphone at knife point. Deputies located the defendant some time later on Anawana Lake Road and took him into custody without incident.
Deputies charged Frank Velez-Miranda, 54, of Monticello with Robbery in the First Degree and Menacing.
He was arraigned before Judge Robert Scheinman in the Town of Fallsburg Court and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is due back in the Town of Thompson court on December 11 at 5 p.m.
