LIBERTY, NY — Sullivan 180 announced that its Merchant Discount Program will return in 2024 to support grant recipients in building a healthy community.

The organization focuses on people, places and policy. 

The merchant discount program encourages businesses to set a specified discount on supplies, materials or services that grant recipients would need, encouraging them to spend locally for their projects. 

To participate, businesses offer a discount rate on products or services for Sullivan 180 projects. The business sets the discount amount. Discounts typically range from 10 percent to 20 percent or more.

The program is made possible in partnership with the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce.

Although this program is in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, you are not required to be a member to participate.

Sullivan 180 offers grants to schools, community groups and municipalities that are participating in its grant programs. Grant amounts depend upon the program and project.

Beautification grants support the creation and care of public spaces with an emphasis on youth engagement. School beautification grants offer funding to enhance school grounds and entrances. They also help schools create or care for outdoor gathering spaces on school property.

Municipal partnership grants assist local governments with the care of public spaces, support youth initiatives and/or help fund environmental stewardship projects.

Community development grants support community development goals such as public art, community events, trail stewardship, pocket parks and other initiatives that help build healthy communities.
