GRAHAMSVILLE, NY AND ONLINE — A collaborative program offering an introduction to genealogy will be held on Sunday, April 14 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the community room of the Daniel Pierce Library. It can also be attended online.

The library is located at 332 Main St. Grahamsville, Sullivan County, NY.

Five organizations have opened their archives to help people discover the fun and challenging hobby of finding their roots. Attendees will learn about the wealth of materials available locally at these organizations and the many online resources right at their fingertips. Bring photos, documents and stories to share. Handouts of materials will be available to take home.

The speakers are Suzanne Cecil, president, Sullivan County Historical Society; Ruth Huggler, Sullivan County Democrat; Lynn Priebe, trustee and archivist, Time and the Valleys Museum; Russell Reeves, Sullivan County Clerk; and Nicole Richardson, community programs associate, Daniel Pierce Library.

In-person attendees will also receive light refreshments, handouts from all organizations, admission to the Time and the Valleys Museum exhibitions and time to speak to the presenters before and after the program.

To join the program virtually, register by email at info@timeandthevalleysmuseum.org and put “Intro to Genealogy” in the subject line, or call 845/985-7700. A link will be sent to you.
