DAMASCUS, PA — Farm Arts Collective will hold a free family day and horticulture workshop for kids aged three to 12 on Saturday, July 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Willow Wisp Organic Farm, 38 Hickory Ln.

The day will begin with a farm tour of the 25-acre solar-powered vegetable and flower farm. The tour will be followed by a stop at the flower patch to learn about a number of flower varieties, pollinators and the many reasons why flowers are so important on a farm.

Children will be able to cut some flowers. Parents are asked to bring scissors for the children and to assist the young horticulturists as necessary.

Participants will learn to make a bouquet.

The day will also include face painting by Fox Glow Face Painting, music and refreshments.

Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.

The event is sponsored by Farm Arts Collective Deep Roots Donors and the Wayne County Community Foundation, from the Florence Longmire Treat Fund and the Pleasant Valley Grange Fund.

Advance registration is requested at www.farmartscollective.org or at www.farmartscollective.org/calendar/kids-flower-workshop.
