EVERYWHERE — “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.”

Did you know July is recognized as Ice Cream Month? But why July?

In July 1984, President Ronald Reagan called ice cream “a nutritious and wholesome food,” and established National Ice Cream Month for the month of July.

Here are some interesting facts about ice cream. The United States produces more than 1.5 billion gallons of ice cream and frozen desserts each year—that’s about 23 quarts per person. 

Ice cream is summer’s most popular treat. 

It takes 12 pounds of milk to make one gallon of ice cream. 

Chocolate and vanilla ice cream are the most popular ice cream flavors.
