HONESDALE, PA — The Greater Honesdale Partnership will sponsor Honesdale for the Holidays from Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25.
First off, the annual Winter Wonderland Parade kicks off at 6 p.m. on Main Street. All are invited to enjoy the floats and see Santa as he travels to Central Park.
There, the Christmas tree will be lighted. So will the star on Irving Cliff.
Cocoa and doughnuts will be served, and kids can get their pictures taken with Santa. Don’t forget to check out the storefronts, which are decorated for the season.
The next day, shop Small Business Saturday. Support local businesses and take advantage of free events around town from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. That includes the Dick Smith Open House at 922 Church St.; Smith—who was from Honesdale—wrote the song “Winter Wonderland.”
Kids can build marshmallow snowmen at the Creative Compound, and can meet Santa at the Fred Miller Pavilion on Main Street.
