LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Composer, guitarist and singer-songwriter Hiroya Tsukamoto will perform at the Arts Nest at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.

Tsukamoto began playing the five-string banjo at age 13, and took up the guitar shortly after.

In 2000, he received a scholarship to Berklee College of Music and came to the United States.

Tsukamoto formed “interoceanico,” a musical group, in Boston. Meaning “inter-oceanic,” the group consists of musicians from different countries and continents (one member, for instance, is Latin Grammy singer Marta Gomez, from Colombia).

The group released three records—“The Other Side of the World”, “Confluencia” and “Where the River Shines.”

Tsukamoto has also released three solo albums (“Solo”, “Heartland” and “Places”). He has also performed internationally and won second place in the International Finger Style Guitar Championship in 2018 and 2022.

The Arts Nest is located at 6692 Rte. 52.
