LIBERTY, NY — The annual picnic for the Eileen Haworth Weil Scholarship Fund will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 6 at Walnut Mountain Park.

Sondra Lee and Megan Medley are the scholarship recipients for 2023, and the following community members are being honored: Tom Bosket, Dayna Halprin and Fritz Mayer.

Cat Scott, advocate and candidate for the county legislature, is the keynote speaker.

The event will be held rain or shine.

Food is on offer, “including Andy’s pie.”

The cost is $40; kids under age 12 are free.

The cost to SUNY Sullivan students is $25.

Funds raised aid SUNY Sullivan graduates who continue on for a four-year degree.

The park is located at the end of Walnut Mountain Road off Route 55.
