Help honor scholarship recipients, phenomenal community members

LIBERTY, NY — The annual picnic for the Eileen Haworth Weil Scholarship Fund will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 6 at Walnut Mountain Park. But you have to hurry to be able to attend: reservations are needed by Sunday, July 30.

Sondra Lee and Megan Medley are the scholarship recipients for 2023.  

Tom Bosket,  Dayna Halprin and Fritz Mayer are the community members recognized by the fund.

Cat Scott, advocate and candidate for the county legislature, is the keynote speaker. 

The event will be held rain or shine.

Food is on offer, “including Andy’s pie.”

The cost is $40; kids under age 12 are free. 

The cost to SUNY Sullivan students is $25.

Funds raised aid SUNY Sullivan graduates who continue on for a four-year degree. 

The park is located at the end of Walnut Mountain Road off Route 55.
