HAWLEY, PA — As the leaves on the trees change their colors, the air gets just a little brisker and the sweaters come out for wearing. It's a true sign that fall is on its way to the region. It also means that the Hawley Harvest Hoedown is almost here.

Every year, the Downtown Hawley Partnership (DHP) closes off Keystone and Church Streets and fills them with vendors, live entertainment, kids’ activities and hay rides. There will also be events in Bingham Park, which is just a short minute walk over the bridge from downtown. Hawley’s local stores and eateries are stocked and ready for all to browse and enjoy.

The DHP thanked this year’s Hoedown sponsors: AM Skier Agency, Lake Wally Cafe and Rex Tree Service.

Here are just a few of the activities during the Hoedown. The full event schedule plus times can be found on the DHP website at bit.ly/3BuAhv9.

Live Community Art Project auction on Saturday on Church Street

Cornhole tournament in Bingham Park

Octoberfest on Saturday at Vault 240 on Main Avenue

Vendors on both Church Street and Keystone Street

Chainsaw artists at B. Madigan Jewelry and Gifts

Petting zoo at Miss Elly’s Antiques on Church Street

Live music and dance troupes on Keystone both days

Live auction for the Community Art Project

A live auction will also take place on Saturday, October 5 at 2 p.m. at the DHP Office on Church Street.

View all the chairs at the Krehel's Auction, LLC website at https://www.auctionzip.com/Listings/3968804.html.

The DHP also decided to add in its annual fundraiser, which helps them provide the Hawley Harvest Hoedown along with other events.

This year, the Community Art Project provided chairs designed and reclaimed by our local artists—which will be auctioned off by John from Krehel Auctions, LLC, who donated his time.

John has also loaded pictures of all the chairs onto his website for you to view, which will help you decide which one to display in your home, storefront or even a short-term rental.

If you cannot make the auction, you can email your top bid to info@visithawleypa.com and it will be utilized during the live auction.

The DHP thanked the following individuals and businesses for sponsoring this event: East Shore Lodging, Woodloch Resort, Lake Region IGA, AMSkier, B. Madigan Jewelry and Gifts, Settler’s Hospitality, The Hawley Hub, Black & Brass Coffee, Brookfield, the Shultz Family and the Ryan Harsche Family.
