TYLER HILL, PA — A GoFundMe.com page is raising money for the family of Travis Canfield of Tyler Hill, PA, who died in an accident earlier this month at age 32.

The page is titled “Travis Canfield,” and Amanda Pierce is the organizer.

“Travis was pronounced deceased at the scene, and Karson [his wife, who was seriously injured in the accident] was life flighted to the hospital and remains in ICU,” says the page, which is signed by the Canfield-Wiley/Frazier family.

“The family is asking you to come together to help Karson and their four children who desperately need support at this time,” the page says. “Travis, who worked seven days a week, was the sole breadwinner of the family.”

To donate directly to a bank, call any Dime Bank location and ask to donate to the Travis Canfield Memorial Fund.

Police report double accident

The accident happened at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, on Callicoon Road in Damascus Township, PA, about 500 feet west of Church Road, according to the accident report by the Pennsylvania State Police in Honesdale, PA.

The report provided the following details: At the crash site, Callicoon Road is a two-lane divided highway with an asphalt surface. Before the crash, Canfield was involved in a single-vehicle crash that ejected him onto the roadway.

The report says that another driver, Nathan Box, 20, of Damascus, “being distracted by the other crash, struck [Canfield] in the roadway.” Box left the scene then returned shortly afterward. He had several passengers: Ethan Box, 19, of Damascus; Chloe Wilson, 21, of Cochecton, NY; and Kevin Vargas, 20, of Jeffersonville, NY. None were injured.

Canfield succumbed to his injuries after being struck, police said.
