Fun for all at the Wayne County Fair

HONESDALE, PA — Organizers call it “the most fun you’ll have all year,” and a lot of people might agree—the Wayne County Fair is back from Friday, August 4 through Saturday, August 12 at the county fairgrounds.

This summer is the fair’s 161st anniversary. The annual event celebrates the rich agricultural history of the region—and it’s a chance for local 4-H kids to show off the projects they’ve been working on all year.

The nine-day fair offers shows, thrills, rides, games, food and all things farm.

At the family-friendly event, there are plenty of activities for kids of all ages, organizers said—26 rides and an expanded Kiddieland.

The entertainment schedule includes a mix of thrill shows, harness racing, fireworks, demolition derby, a monster truck show and free musical grandstand shows, including some national cover bands.

On the farm side, you’ll find horse, tractor and truck pulls, kids’ pedal pulls and a pony pull.

When it comes to 4-H, it doesn’t matter if you have a family member showing their work. All can enjoy the animal shows and judging. The kids have been raising horses, cows, pigs, rabbits and more.

The fair offers a pay-one-price admission fee of only $12 per day. It includes rides, parking, exhibits and most of the entertainment.

Half-price admission is offered on August 4 and August 9 to seniors aged 62 and over, and for active military personnel and veterans.
