Frazier endorsed by NYS Public Employees Federation

Michele Frazier, candidate for New York State Senate District 51, announced that she has received the endorsement of the New York State Public Employees Federation (PEF), a union representing over 50,000 state employees.

“I am grateful for the support of the folks who deliver the state services that we rely upon to make our communities safer and stronger,” Frazier said. “From nurses who keep us healthy to engineers who fix our roads, these professionals are making good on the promise of state government to serve the people. I look forward to making sure that PEF members have the tools and resources they need to continue to do that crucial work.”

Frazier is running against Republican Peter Oberacker. Oberacker has consistently voted against worker protections and funding the agencies that employ PEF members.

“We know that you appreciate and value the work performed by public employees,” PEF president Wayne Spence wrote in his endorsement letter. “You also understand the needs of working men and women and their families and support the programs and services that address these needs.”

Michele Frazier grew up in her family’s flower and greenhouse business in Oneonta—one of the largest geranium growers in the state. A former Oneonta City Council member, Frazier now lives in Delhi, where she is an assistant professor of criminal justice at SUNY Delhi. She lives with her spouse and three sons, two of whom are neurodivergent. Frazier is also a real estate agent for a locally owned real estate company.
