Food, fun and farm at the Wayne County Fair

HONESDALE, PA — The most fun you’ll have all year is back, Friday, August 2 through Saturday, August 10.   The annual Wayne County Fair returns to the fairgrounds on Route 191 for the fair’s 162nd year.

The annual fair spans nine days every August and celebrates the rich agriculture of the region.

The Wayne County Fair packs each day with shows, thrills, rides, games, food and—of course—farm animals. The cost is a pay-one-price model of $12 that includes parking, all day of rides, live music, magic shows, most grandstand shows and barns full of animals.

The midway includes 26 thrill rides and an expanding kiddie land for those not big enough for the larger rides.

The fair’s daily entertainment schedule includes a mix of harness racing, truck and tractor pulls, fireworks, two nights of the demolition derby, free musical grandstand shows with some national cover bands—and this year, two nights of Monster Truck Freestyle, featuring Krazy Train.

Farm meets fun at the Wayne County Fair with daily agricultural events, such as horse and pony pulls, kids’ pedal pulls and 4-H animal shows and judging.

If you like farm animals, head to the north end of the midway for horses, cows, pigs, rabbits and more raised by local 4-H kids. There’s also an exhibit building that showcases the history of agriculture in Wayne County.

The Wayne County Fair is famous for its food offerings. From fresh-squeezed lemonades to farm-fresh corn and deep-fried Oreos, there’s food for everyone on the fair grounds. Forget your diets for one day.

Half-price admission is offered on Friday, August 2 and Wednesday, August 7 to seniors 62 and over and for our active military personnel and veterans.
