ONLINE and ON THE RADIO — WJFF's "Farm and Country" is locally produced radio about rural life in the Catskills and the Delaware River Valley. The Saturday, September 2 edition features an oral history project in the Delaware River Valley titled "Unearthed."

It's sponsored by the Western Sullivan Public Library.

Some years ago, community member Linda Slocum interviewed local resident Floyd Campfield. Campfield lived from 1936 to 2019. Radio Catskill was granted permission to air this audio segment on "Farm and Country."

Floyd Campfield speaks with knowledge and passion about constructing his eel weirs. Floyd and wife Coby processed, harvested and sold eels for many years. And, as more things changed, along the Delaware River... Floyd tells us about that.

The segment airs at 10 a.m. after NPR headlines. For more information or to listen, visit wjffradio.org.
