EMT courses offered at SUNY Sullivan

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — Training begins this month for aspiring EMTs in Sullivan County.

  • The EMT Basic Course is ideal for newcomers. Students will cover all aspects of emergency medical care, including patient assessment, trauma care, and cardiac and respiratory emergencies. The course follows the latest NYS Department of Health guidelines. Completing the training opens doors to a career dedicated to helping others in times of need. 

The basic course begins on August 20 and runs for 10 weeks. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6 to 10 p.m., and on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The tuition is $950 plus a $100 registration fee.

  • The EMT Refresher Course is for certified EMTs looking to renew their certification. It provides updates on the latest techniques and protocols in emergency medical care through classroom instruction and practical, hands-on training,

The refresher course begins on August 18. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6 to 10 p.m., and on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuition is $400 plus a $100 registration fee. Sponsored students may submit NYS Department of Heath (DOH) form 3312 for tuition reimbursement.
