MONTICELLO, NY — Six trustee board seats are up for a vote at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library.

The election of trustees will be held on Wednesday, October 9.

Library trustee petitions will be available on Friday, August 9, at the library, 479 Broadway, Monticello, NY.

The open seats are as follows:

  • Three seats serving for full 3-year terms, from January 1, 2025, from to December 31, 2027;
  • Two seats for the remaining 2 years of two 3-year terms, to serve from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026;
  • One seat for the remaining 1 year of a 3-year term, to serve from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.

Seeking re-election are incumbents Richard Arnold (three-year term), Lois Berkowitz and Jane Rosenzweig (two-year term), and Lynne Albuquerque (one-year term).

Lisa Clark, now serving a three-year term, is not seeking re-election. One three-year seat on the board is currently vacant.

Any eligible voter who lives in the library service area—the towns of Forestburgh, Bethel, or Thompson within the Monticello Central School District—may pick up a petition to run for trustee. Petitions must be returned to the library by 5 p.m. on Monday, September 9.

For more information, call the library election secretary, Danielle DiStefano at 845-794-4660 ext. 6 or email ddistefano@rcls.org.
