DVAA opens its 2024 season

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) will hold the first two shows of the 2024 gallery season, starting with an opening reception on Saturday, February 10 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The exhibitions—“Rough Metaphors" by Jaya Duvvuri and “#LoveWhereYouLive,” a group show curated by Signe Ballew— will run through Sunday, March 17.

Duvvuri’s work can be found in the Alliance Gallery; she creates monochromatic Sumi-e paintings, otherwise known as Japanese ink painting. Duvvuri’s work examines the interactions of forms between nature and the material world and their impressions on psychological space.

Upstairs in the Loft Gallery, #LoveWhereYouLive features nearly 50 local and regional artists with work representing the distinct spirit of the Upper Delaware River and Sullivan County Catskills. The work draws inspiration from the beauty inherent in everyday life, landscapes, architecture and the distinct spirit that defines the Upper Delaware River and Sullivan County Catskills, a gallery spokesperson said.

For details on the artists and a list of related events to be held in March, visit www.delawarevalleyartsalliance.org/exhibitions/.

DVAA galleries are open to the public free of charge and are ADA-accessible.

The DVAA is located at 37 Main St.

Gallery and shop hours are Thursdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by appointment.
