HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA) Gallery will reopen for 2024 on Friday, February 2. An opening reception for “Dream,” the first exhibition of the year, will be held on February 2 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
“Dream” shows work created by young artists (in kindergarten through 12th grade) from three area school districts—Wallenpaupack Area, Western Wayne and Wayne Highlands—and from the Cooperage Project.
“Dream” grew out of a WCAA/school district partnership that began three years ago. Art teachers and their classes were invited into the gallery to view members’ shows and to make art. For the “Dream” exhibition, art was made at the schools and was inspired by three different ideas about dreams and dreaming: dreams you dream while you sleep, the dream poems of Langston Hughes, and the young artists’ dreams for the world.
The exhibit runs from February 2 through Saturday, February 24. Regular gallery hours for February and March are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The arts alliance is located at 959 Main St. To learn more, visit www.waynecountyartsalliance.org.
