HONESDALE, PA — Honesdale’s historic 174-year-old Congregation Beth Israel will soon celebrate the Jewish New Year; all are welcome on Rosh Hashanah, beginning Friday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m., followed by Saturday, September 16 at 10 a.m. at 615 Court St.
Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, will begin with the Kol Nidre service on Sunday, September 24 at 7:30 p.m. and will continue on Monday, September 25 at 10 a.m.
Rabbi Elliott Kleinman will conduct the High Holy Day services with cantorial soloist Juliet Morris.
In addition to the High Holy Day services, the congregation holds regular Shabbat services each month.
Beth Israel also has an active religious school for children.
