Clowning around, music at the DVOC

LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Clown Daddy and Eric Vanderzee will perform at the Delaware Valley Opera Center (DVOC) Arts Nest on Saturday, November 11. See below for times.

Clown Daddy, aka Ellie J., is an actress turned clown who has found her home in the wilds of the Catskills. An NYU Tisch honors graduate and a drop-out of the prestigious Lecoq clown school in Paris, she focuses on physicality, slapstick and the joy of the cathartic experience in live performance, the DVOC wrote.

Clown Daddy as a character evolved somewhere between an accident and years of hard work developing a stage persona. She has happily and humbly become a staple part of the Catskills artist community. You can find what she's up to at www.clowndaddypresents.com.

Eric Vanderzee is a classical guitarist turned experimental musician, and is based out of the Catskills in upstate New York. He spends his time foraging for mushrooms, baking bread and yelling into microphones over beats influenced by hyper-pop, hip-hop, rock, jazz and whatever else happens to catch his ear, he says. He holds a master's degree in music performance from the Mannes School of Music at the New School in New York City. Find out more at www.ericvanderzee.com.

The show runs from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on November 11. Doors open at 9 p.m. and Clown Daddy will perform from 9:30-10.

Vanderzee takes the stage from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m.

There's a $20 cover charge.

The DVOC is located at 6692 Rte. 52.
