NORTHEAST PA — The Chamber of the Northern Poconos is seeking nominations of outstanding business leaders aged 40 or younger and for the leader of a green business, for awards to be presented at the chamber’s annual meeting. Nominations will be accepted until Friday, December 1.

The annual meeting will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Ladore Lodge. 

One award seeks a business leader aged 40 or younger who has shown an entrepreneurial spirit in their dedication and commitment to the community through their interest in business, leadership and personal achievement. Candidates must be a member of the Chamber of the Northern Poconos and own the member business.

In cooperation with SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education & Development Support), the chamber hopes to increase the region’s green business practices and honor a member business for sustainable practices.

Consumers are increasingly choosing green companies, the chamber noted.

The sustainable practices can include energy conservation, renewable energy, transportation, water conservation, purchasing/waste prevention, pollution reduction and recycling/composting.
