SHINHOPPLE, NY — The Colchester Historical Society will host its Harvest Hops Festival on Saturday, September 30, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Shinhopple Memorial Center.
The festival will celebrate the history and resurgence of the hops industry in New York State.
There will be historical photographs, documents and artifacts, as well as hops crafts, hops food items and the Society’s new 2024 calendar, “Sew Tasty.”
Albert C. Bullard, author of “The Hop Farmer’s Year,” will give a talk on the history of the hop industry in New York.
Guests will find beers and ciders made with hops by the Roscoe Beer Company and Linder’s Cidery, and local musician B.J. Henderickson will perform.
The center is located at 1406 Trout Brook Rd.
The suggested donation is $5.
