Holiday Magic takes place throughout the hamlet of Narrowsburg on December 4 while Whoville was stationed at Fort Delaware. The event was sponsored by the Tusten Youth Commission. and supported by organizations and businesses throughout town.

Broadway and TV actor Erin West lead the festivities at the Barryville Chamber of Commerce's Tree Lighting this evening. Happy onlookers enjoyed performance by Erin, Franklin Trapp, Roswell Hamrick, Mike Edison and his Rocket Train featuring the Yulan Brass Duo. With our beautiful Barryville Christmas Tree all dressed up for the occasion, blazing fire pits, hot chocolate cider and cookies it was a most magical night to kick off the Town of Highland holidays.

Fun and festivity at the Santa Parade

RIVER VALLEY — Holiday cheer and activities were in abundance throughout the river valley as communities make ready for the winter holidays.

Jeffersonville and Honesdale officially kicked off the season on Thanksgiving weekend with their respective annual James Dworetsky Parade and Santa Parade. Port Jervis hosted Christkindlmarkt on November 27.

The Greater Barryville Chamber of Commerce officially turned on its tree on December 3, while the four corners in Eldred were dazzling with a light show, sponsored by the Monteleone family, on December 4.

Also on December 4, Holiday Magic in Narrowsburg, coordinated by the Tusten Youth Commission and numerous other businesses and organizations, transformed Fort Delaware into Whoville, and hosted a parade, a tree lighting, cupcake decorating, card-making and a holiday movie at the Tusten Theater.

The festivities continue next weekend as Hawley holds its Winterfest and Callicoon puts on Dickens on the Delaware. For much more holiday celebrations, check out the Where & When calendar, both in print and online.
