LACKAWAXEN, PA — The Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, part of the National Park Service, will host the 18th annual Zane Grey Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 on the grounds of the Zane Grey Museum. 

The Zane Grey Festival is a family event with activities for both children and adults. 

Bill Streeter of the Delaware Valley Raptor Center will present a program of live birds of prey from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.

Brookvalley Farm will provide horse-drawn wagon rides from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Lackawaxen River Conservancy will present Preserving & Protecting the Lackawaxen River from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.

The Upper Delaware Puppeteers will perform “A Wildlife Journey Down the Upper Delaware” from 1 p.m. to 1:20 p.m.

The Northeast Spirit Barbershop Quartet will perform a compellation of melodies beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Local musician Dan Engvaldsen will perform folk music starting at 2 p.m.

Throughout the day, Steamtown National Historic Site will demonstrate the “Ring of Fire,” and the interactive Wood Mobile will be on hand. 

There will be craft activities available for children of all ages, a children’s scavenger hunt, primitive skills demonstrations, weaving and 19th-century woodworking demonstrations too.

“National Parks on Air,” hosted by the Wayne County Amateur Radio Club will be there, and free popcorn will be available courtesy of Honesdale National Bank.

Soigne Crepes Catering will serve their signature strawberry-and-banana crepe; and there will be hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, french fries, ice-cold drinks and more for refreshments—cash only.

The museum is located at 135 Scenic Dr.
