BEACH LAKE, PA — In celebration of our 45th anniversary of performing, promoting and teaching traditional music in Northeast PA, the Old Time Fiddlers will welcome champion fiddler and step dancer April Verch to our area at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 14 at the Beach Lake Fire Hall.

April will perform with her husband, Cody Walters (guitar and banjo). She will also give a workshop on fiddle and step dance at 2 p.m. that day in the fire hall. 

The workshop and concert are free to the public as a way of thanking all the fans of The Old Time Fiddlers for their support throughout the years.

“To listen to April Verch and Cody Walters is to be immersed in tradition. To watch them perform is to be transported. Be it regional Canadian roots, American old-time, ‘50s country, or something original that sounds like it’s been around for a century—the one common thread is their love and reverence for the music and traditions that have been passed down to them.”

April has toured for more than two decades and has 14 albums out (two of which were nominated for JUNO awards, among other honors), “there is nothing that gives Verch more joy than playing and sharing music with the world.”

They play traditional Ottawa Valley step-dancing and fiddle tunes, old-time fiddle-banjo duets with tight-knit vocal harmonies and innovative sandpaper foot percussion.

The fire hall is located at 1033 Beach Lake Hwy. The building is handicapped accessible. Refreshments will be available for the evening show.
