Cartwright highlights his fight against price gouging

Posted

U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright released a campaign ad recently, emphasizing that many northeastern Pennsylvanians are struggling with high prices—which is why Cartwright says he fought to cap insulin at $35 per month and limit out-of-pocket drug costs for seniors, beginning in 2025.

Acknowledging that more work remains, Cartwright promised in the ad to take on corporate price gouging. He underscored that he works for the people of northeastern Pennsylvania—not corporations or Wall Street banks.

Cartwright is no stranger to taking on corporations. He made waves in May for slamming Texas oil executives caught conspiring with OPEC to limit gasoline production and keep gas prices artificially high for American consumers. He has also supported legislation allowing the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general to crack down on oil companies engaging in price gouging.

Additionally, Cartwright has called for a tax break for working people, to ease the burden on northeastern Pennsylvanians as prices remain high.
