MIDDLETOWN, NY — Those interested in supporting communities in the public and mental health arenas—and in a multitude of other ways—Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County (CCE) is holding a 10-month program beginning October 7. There will be a combination of in-person and online classes.
“If you are interested in personal growth and volunteering to support communities related to public and mental health, climate change, community and economic vitality, equity, education, public safety and public policy, this program is for you,” said Julika von Stackelberg, educator at CCE.
Educators, human services providers, mental health and health care providers, law enforcement, members of the community and more are welcome.
The cost of the program is $300 and scholarships are available.
The program’s monthly sessions focus on a specific topic that is shared by faculty members from different fields.
Sessions will take place on the first Saturday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a Zoom session every second Tuesday of the month from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The program is set to begin October 7, and runs through July.
