BEACH LAKE, PA — Applications are being accepted to join the park service at the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River for the 2024 summer season.

Two positions, including one specifically for applicants fluent in Spanish, are open on www.USAJOBS.gov until Friday, February 2 and Monday, February 5, respectively.

To learn more and to apply for the seasonal park ranger position (Spanish not required), visit www.usajobs.gov/job/771550800. Again, applications close for this job on February 2.

To learn more and to apply for the seasonal park ranger Spanish position, visit www.usajobs.gov/job/771626500. Applications will not be accepted for this position after February 5.

The positions will run from May 6 to September 2. There is a two-week training program that includes an orientation to the National Park Service, Basic First Aid and CPR certification, and American Canoe Association certification.

Park rangers play a vital role in protecting and caring for the Upper Delaware River and helping our visitors to recreate safely and responsibly. As part of the Division of Interpretation, the park ranger will interact with visitors at boat launch sites and paddle a canoe on the Delaware River, promoting safe river recreation and stewardship. In addition, the ranger will present education programs to local youth groups and summer camps, as well as staff the Zane Grey Museum.

The hourly rate for these GS-5 positions is $22.28 per hour. The 40-hour work week runs Wednesday through Sunday, including holidays.

To learn more, call chief of interpretation Ingrid Peterec at 570/493-1020 or email ingrid_peterec@nps.gov
