ALBANY, NY — Carrie Woerner, chair of the New York State Assembly Libraries and Education Technology Committee, took testimony to examine library construction aid and the long-term capital needs of libraries on October 25. Libraries can use this aid to acquire new buildings or land, construct new buildings, renovate or rehabilitate existing buildings, improve their broadband infrastructure and/or use for other costs approved by the commissioner of education.
The library construction program provides aid to assist the state’s 23 public library systems and over 750 public libraries as they sustain and upgrade their infrastructure.
