REGION — There’s still time to register for this year’s summer reading program at the Western Sullivan Public Library (WSPL). Activities will be offered every week for young readers and their families throughout the summer.
Join the library at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays through August 6 at the Delaware Youth Center in Callicoon, NY for a special themed storytime for kids aged five and under.
Storytime will be followed by a hands-on activity at 11 a.m. for kids aged six through 11.
Kids aged six and up can join the Tusten Youth Club in Narrowsburg, NY every Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for arts and crafts, and to get their hands dirty in the garden. To register, email info@tustenyouth.org.
Visit the Jeffersonville Branch on Thursday, July 18 and Thursday, August 1 for two nature talks with hands-on activities for ages six through 11. The activities are led by a staff member from the National Park Service.
Finally, join WSPL for a trip to Buck Brook Alpacas Farm on Thursday, July 25. Families can feed the alpacas and meet the new babies during this private tour.
Register on the library’s calendar at www.WSPLonline.org or call your local branch to reserve your spot. Then stop by one of the branches in Jeffersonville, Callicoon or Narrowsburg to pick up a summer reading log, which can be returned throughout July and August for rewards and special prizes for the top readers at the end of the summer.
