A whirlwind of activities

We are almost halfway through December and boy are the days packed with holiday activities, baking, shopping, games and horse shows.

This month seems to be a full whirlwind in our home, and I am sure that sounds familiar in your homes as well.

Support our local shops and restaurants this holiday season. A gift certificate to a local business makes a great holiday gift.

Be sure to check the winter sports calendar on the Sullivan West website for up-to-date game information for all the sporting events this winter. Come and support our local youth.

I love that our communities offer so many different events to celebrate the holidays. Here are a few different events taking place:

Don’t forget the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church at our Christmas Carol Sing—all are welcome. Join the members of the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church and community members to attend the first Christmas hymn sing on Friday, December 15 at 5:30 p.m. Call Vicky Krauss at 845/932-8923 so the church knows how many people will be attending and how much soup and how many hot dogs and cookies will be needed.

They’ll be singing classic Christmas songs and Christmas hymns.

It’s free and fun for all—Merry Christmas!

The Sullivan West elementary school winter concert will take place on Tuesday, December 19 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the auditorium at the middle school/high school. Come out and see all our local talented youth.

Peace, Love and Lights is back at Bethel Woods and it is operating daily from Thursday, December 14 to Sunday, December 31. The fun doesn’t end when your drive is over—you can dine by the fire with comfort food, a DIY s’mores kit, holiday drinks and more. Check out the mega-trees and take plenty of pictures. It’s located on the Bethel Woods Upper Campus and is open at 5 p.m. The holiday hub is not open on Mondays. Check the Bethel Woods website, for full details.

If you have a local business that you would like to have spotlighted in an upcoming column, get in touch. Email jenn@jennpowelldesigns.com with any news, events and happenings.
