A gift that lasts forever

WAYNE COUNTY, PA — The Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF) believes that reading is one of the most important skills one can have, and a love of reading is a special gift

That’s why the foundation is asking that people consider donating to its Building Home Libraries project.

Through Building Home Libraries, the WCCF provides every Wayne County public school student in grades pre-K through eight with a book to take home and keep.

A donation of $20 purchases enough books for five Wayne County students to help build up their own library.

A good book can open our eyes and show us so much more of the world than what we can see in our day-to-day lives, a WCCF spokesman wrote. “Stories take us to new places, introduce us to new people and give us just a little glimpse into someone else’s experience. That perspective can be life-changing to young readers.”

Donate online at WayneFoundation.org or by check to the Wayne County Community Foundation, 918 Church St., Suite F, Honesdale, PA 18431. Put “Home Libraries” in the memo.
