MILFORD, PA — In the latest installment of its Lunch and Learn series, Grey Towers Heritage Association and Forest Hall will host conservationist Peter Pinchot for a Lunch and Learn from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 20 at Forest Hall.

Peter Pinchot is the co-founder of Whole Forest, a for-profit conservation business that partners with rainforest communities in Ecuador to sustainably produce flooring, countertops, wall paneling, and furniture using multiple species.

The session offers perspective on Pennsylvania’s forests, ways in which Ecuador is connected to Grey Towers National Historic Site, and the role played by deforestation in the history and legacy of both Ecuador and Milford.

It’s a chance to learn about the social and economic values of forestry management, and to discuss long-term conservation management for the future.

Forest Hall is an 1880s Gothic Revival building on the corner of Broad and Harford Streets, which was commissioned by James Pinchot. (He was the father of Gifford Pinchot, who was twice governor of PA and a founder of the U.S. Forest Service.)

Lunch and Learn includes a homemade hot lunch. Ticket prices are $13 for Heritage Association members and $18 for non-members.

The Lunch and Learn series is sponsored by the nonprofit Grey Towers Heritage Association. Purchase tickets and find additional lecture information at www.greytowers.org.
