I have to start off by saying I am sorry there was no column last week. I was in Wayne Memorial Hospital from Saturday to Tuesday. I was sitting in Two Guys from Italy eating a nice lunch with my brother’s girlfriend, Debbie, when my ear popped and my throat started to vibrate and my face went numb.

Due to the holiday weekend I had to get my column in early. Sometimes I do not have anything to write about, and I say “I am going to give this up;” then I remember all my readers and I know I cannot disappoint them. I am writing this on Friday, September 1.
Those of you who know me know I spend a lot of time on Facebook, for work and for pleasure. I am able to talk to all my family my friends and cousins all over the world. I get to see your new kids and grandchildren. I am a part of your family parties and I enjoy finding old classmates and childhood friends.
I just got back from a very fun vacation at Ocean City, MD with my cousins Donnie and Rose. The ferry ride over was so nice and relaxing—but not so good on the way back after that bad storm. Water was so choppy. Thank God for Dramamine and sea bands, or I would have been feeding the fish.
Very busy weekend: on Saturday, I drove up to Cobleskill to go to my friend Paula’s annual pig roast. It took me over 3 hours to get there; I did make a few stops. I was having a really nice time seeing people I have not seen in a few months. When it started to rain, we were protected by two really nice carport tents.
Hello, hope you are all having a great summer. I am trying to keep busy. I’m enjoying my concerts at Bethel Woods. I went to see Carlos Santana last night; he is very talented and loud. I went to the psychic Alissa Smith at the Delaware Spirit Quest Expo on Saturday. She was amazing. She answered so many questions for me about Tommy’s death.
I went down to Queens to help my sister Maryanne celebrate her 64th birthday on Monday July 31st. She has a hard time on her birthday—she always celebrated it with our parents. My Dad and Mom were both born on the same day, August 1. I wanted to do something special for her, but no planes, trains or packing.
What a busy, great, fun, weekend I had. On Friday night went to Bethel Woods with Pastor Phyllis Haynes to see Cindi Lauper and Rod Stewart. Everything was great till the skies opened up, and we ran under the pavilion for cover. We got drenched anyway. I had a puddle in my bra.
It’s so funny how so many people know who I am and I do not know them. I was at a pig roast at Lake Huntington Service Station over the week end—I cannot remember their names, but this one guy comes up to me and says, “Hi, Eileen.” I give myself a few seconds till something rings a bell. Nope, nothing.
