WURTSBORO, NY — Catskill Talks will host artist William Landau on August 18 at 5 p.m. at the John Neilson Gallery located at 73 Sullivan St. Landau describes his work with print as, "Vivid, graphic, joyful, and often reminiscent of the old speedball style [I began] with as a kid, adding smearing, running, bleeding (sometimes happy accidents of wet-in-wet).” Landau, who has an extensive resume of gallery exhibitions throughout the Catskills and beyond, will also talk about how his work evokes the quiet and real passion of living in the company of beautiful scenes in nature, loving farmland checkerboards and broken down barns in the Catskills.

The event is part of a series of monthly art talks held by the Wurtsboro Art Alliance at the John Neilson Gallery, between June and October, on the third Saturday of the month. The talks are free. Donations will be accepted at the door to help support the Wurtsboro Arts Alliance. The project is made possible, in part, with funding from a Sullivan County Arts & Heritage Grant funded by the Sullivan County Legislature and administered by the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.
