LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — On March 11, the Livingston Manor and Roscoe Central School Districts presented their 2023-2024 Fall-Winter modified/junior varsity/varsity athletic awards ceremony in Manor’s “Home of the Wildcats” auditorium.

“Interscholastic athletics in education are a privilege for students to be a part of during their careers,” said David Eggleton, athletic director for both districts. The two districts’ athletics departments are merged.

“Athletics have the ability to leave positive lifelong character traits,” he continued. “Athletes have the ability to critically think, communicate, work with other individuals, and overcome tough situations. These are all skills that we would like students and student athletes in schools to have within their toolbox to be productive citizens in life.”

On the subject of the importance of sports awards ceremonies, Eggleton said, “Awards ceremonies in athletics are our overall culminating events, and allow us the ability to reflect on all that has been accomplished.” He noted that at such events, student athletes, parents or guardians and the community can show their support for all the hard work, time and commitment given by athletes each season.
