WAYNE COUNTY, PA — Two races in the General Election this past Tuesday have been deemed too close to call. 

According to the unofficial results, Commissioner Wendell Kay (D) and challenger Jocelyn Cramer (D) are within just eight votes of each other in a race for the third seat on the Wayne County Commissioners. Republican incumbents Brian Smith and Joe Adams have both securely won the other two seats. 

The race for Mount Pleasant Township Supervisor is also too tight to call: Republican Darrin Peck received 239 votes, just five more than Democrat Brad Medved who received 234. 

Official computation begins on Friday morning. Cindy Furman, director of the Bureau of Elections reported to the Election Board that it will likely take all day Friday and all day Tuesday of next week to calculate the final results. 

The election verification process involves reviewing all votes, and factoring in additional write-in votes; military and civilian overseas absentee ballots; and provisional ballots—cast by those whose names did not appear on voting rolls on Election Day, but were later approved by the Election Board. 

Furman said that she expects many write-in votes this year.
