LORDS VALLEY, PA ― The Tick Borne Diseases task force will hold a Pike County Lyme and tick-borne diseases (TBD) health symposium on Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Pike County Training Center, 135 Pike County Blvd. The doors open at 9:45 a.m.
At the symposium, experts in the TBD prevention community will present on various topics, including tick-related due diligence and the latest tick bite prevention techniques. Vendors will also be present at the event.
The task force is focused on decreasing the number of tick-borne illnesses by building community awareness through education, support and advocacy. It offers educational materials to help people prevent tick-borne diseases and safely enjoy the great outdoors.
The task force meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room, 506 Broad St, and via Zoom. New members are welcome to attend.
