LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — For its final production of the 2024 season, River Rep Theatre presents MacArthur Genius Larissa FastHorse’s comedy “The Thanksgiving Play” at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 5 and 12, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 6 and 13, at the Delaware Valley Opera Center.
The plot follows a troupe of (very) well-intentioned theater people as they scramble to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Month. Described as “rambunctious, thorny and not quite politically correct, it serves up the hypocrisies of woke America on a big, family-style platter.”
The play stars Arthur Aulisi, Amy Laird Webb, Josh Liveright, Lexee McEntee and James Sullivan, and is directed by Christopher Peditto. Costumes are by Alyena Galvin-Bliefernich.
Tickets cost $30 and can be purchased at www.myrivertickets.com.
The opera center is located at 6692 Rte. 52.
