MONTICELLO, NY — Their perseverance and commitment set them apart, especially considering the challenges posed by COVID-19, Dr. Theresa Hamlin told the top students from Sullivan BOCES’s Class of 2024.
She expressed immense pride in their hard work and dedication, their character and resilience, and said the celebration is a tribute to everything they’ve achieved.
Dr. Hamlin is president and CEO of The Center for Discovery and was guest speaker at BOCES 39th annual Academic Achievement Celebration, held on June 10 at the Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark. She emphasized the importance of giving back to the community and urged the students to return to Sullivan County to contribute to its growth and development.
Dr. Robert M. Dufour, district superintendent of Sullivan BOCES presented certificates of achievement to each student, along with their school superintendent, school board president, and high school principal.
This year’s top students are:
Eldred: Madison Bonnell and Kaitlyn McGarry
Fallsburg: Mia Irlbacher, Jane Islas Escamilla, Angelina Levner, and Charlotte Steingart
Liberty: Jumana Abu Al Ghanam, Julia Juron, Erin Skinner, Benjamin Visconti, and Sincere Warren
Livingston Manor: Jillian Carlsen and Jackson Krause
