NORTHEAST PA — If you could give a child a safe place to go after school, would you?

SHINE understands the importance of having a free afterschool program that not only offers homework help, but also provides transportation and a hot dinner.

Quality afterschool programs help students and families, and that’s why everyone is invited to celebrate Lights-On Afterschool on Thursday, October 26.  All you have to do is switch on your porch light between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to show your support for afterschool programs in Wayne and Pike counties.

Afterschool programs offer a safe place to go, they help kids get better grades, give them time to explore new worlds and help them discover hidden talents.

Lights On Afterschool is the nationwide celebration of afterschool programs and their vital role in the lives of children, families and communities. It highlights the ways afterschool programs shape the future of our children.

Get ready to help us shine a light on education!
