NARROWSBURG, NY — LeeAnn Hubbert, a leader of the Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) of Sullivan West Elementary School, recently helped spearhead a food drive for the Narrowsburg Ecumenical Food Pantry. On a recent Sunday, the food collected by the PTSO was brought to St. Paul’s for helping needy families.
“We are grateful for any donations, either as money or as non-perishable food,” said the Rev. Phyllis Haynes, pastor of St. Paul’s, which works together with St. Francis-Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Narrowsburg, to run the food pantry.
Basic non-perishable items are also always needed, especially now in the face of food stamp (SNAP) cutbacks. The pantry is open on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the lower level of St. Francis Xavier’s parish hall. Food donations can be dropped off by the side door of St. Francis Xavier Church parish hall on Thursdays from 3 to 4 p.m. For more information, call 845/252-3919.
